Off to the Races

Hello fashionistas!
The other day my Dad, Mom, and I went down to watch practice and qualifying for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona. I was told I had to wear sneakers and obviously Nike workout sneakers were not going to be worn by me. So I donned my lip print Converse shoes. I bought them because they remind me a bit of Betsey Johnson's flirty flair. I kept the outfit simple, pairing my favorite blazer with the top in case I got chilly.

Blazer: Kohl's Top: Nine West Tank-top: Kohl's Jeans: JCP Shoes: Converse Necklace: Tiffany & Co.

Shoe picture while at the race track.

Mommy and daughter picture. We were both mid cracking up about something, hence mom's tight lipped smile! Note how she's wearing the scarf she bought for me. I love her!

Patrick Dempsey is the guy talking to the older woman in the yellow shirt. I love him!

Mom and I spotted this unknown, very attractive man in the grey. I told mom he was working his angles with his casual posing! Mom always tells me that the races are the best way to meet men. She says "It's literally one woman to every twenty men!"  Dad just laughs and laughs.

Casual picture of race trailers for the cars to be transported in.

Here's a Lana Del Rey song that made me think of the title. I love this song. "Off to the Races" is such a great song!

My mom made a big girl's breakfast and invited a lot of our friends. It was fun and tasty!

Have a great week! Enjoy the last day before we get back to the grind.

Lots of love!

Curls and Bows

Hello fashionistas!
I finally wore the Michael Kors shirt I bought over break. Not going to lie, I'd almost forgotten I bought this. I remembered I had purchased it when one of my friends had on a blue v-neck shirt on which sparked the memory of me buying this. I was so drawn to this shirt because of the color. Blues is a color that always manages to look good on me, so when I tried it on I knew I had to have it. Plus the ruching on the sleeves is really slimming. Sorry I didn't get any arm details!

Shirt: Michael Kors (Marshalls) Jeans: Kohls Shoes: Kohls, a long time ago Purse: Jessica Simpson Necklace: Forever 21 Earrings: Forever 21 Headband: Claire's

Went for my usual smokey brown eyes, which is pretty much my favorite thing. I used a bronze lipgloss, even though my lips are so pigmented that it doesn't look completely bronze. I'd been dying to curl my hair, so I just did it. I gave it a lot of volume and slipped a headband in (hello Blair, a.k.a Leighton Meester). It was very bombshell-esque.

Have a great weekend!

Pearls and Pink

Hello fashionistas!
Another one of my outfit of the days. I love sharing these with you all.
Sorry for my hair in these photos. Due to where I part my bangs they kind of poofed up when I brushed them back and my part must have not stayed evenly together in the back. Oh well.

I woke up craving to wear a headband. I go through phases where I want to wear headbands 24/7 and then I just stop. I think the headband phase is back on.

Simple, soft makeup. Pale brown eye makeup and a pink lipstick with a clear gloss over it. Glowing pink cheeks and I was ready to go.

Top: Gap Blazer: Kohl's Jeans and Bracelet: Belk Shoes: Target Earrings: F21 Headband: Ross

Again, apologies for the pictures. For some reason it blurred, but this was the only full length one I had.
I wanted to wear this dusty pink, beaded top to school. I paired it with my trusty black blazer, trouser jeans, and a black heels. Accessorized with my favorite silver bracelet and silver studs.

See the bracelet? It's probably one of my favorite pieces of jewelry, next to my Tiffany's necklace! It's such a simple piece, but I like the contrast between the swirls and sleek silver.

Lots of love!

Hello fashionistas!
I'm pulling a little procrastination act and watching Youtube videos and came across this video.
This is basically my life. I really felt that you guys needed to see this. Sorry if the swearing in the title offends anyone!

Okay, still cracking up over this. This is my life. I've probably said everything in this at least once in my life.

Okay, I for reals have to go study for my history and french tests.

Hope this made you giggle!

Back to Basics.

Hello fashionistas!
I felt like I was going back to basics with a button up top over a simple beaded tank-top and my go to (worn out) flats. It was a very laid back outfit.

I went with very simple makeup, just mascara and brown eyeliner on my eyes. The normal face makeup, light on blush and bronzer. A pale pink lipstick and I was ready to go.

Top: New York and Company Blue top: Liz Clairborne Tank-top: Aeropostale Jeans: JCP Shoes: Payless Bag: Jessica Simpson Jewelry: Forever 21

This bag has quickly become my favorite, hold everything bag!
It's a pretty timeless, black purse. Or duffel with the amount of stuff that I carry with me!
Sometime this week I think I'm going to do a "what's in my bag" post.

I had a busy weekend spent with my best friends! Loads of fun. On Friday I spent the night with my best friend, Lily. On Saturday she came over and helped me reorganize my closet. After that I went over to the other best friends' house. We went out to dinner and had a sleepover. Which is always so fun!  This morning we watched the movie Friends With Benefits and it was hysterical. Then we went to the beach, it was beautiful outside Perfect temperature and sunny.

My sister leaves for a week for a school trip to DC. Only child status acquired!

Have a great week!

Kushyfoot Review

Hello fashionistas!
I was recently contacted by Lipton Publicity and I was sent a few products from Kushyfoot to review.

These are the flats I was sent, they are called "Flats to Go."
Here's what the product's description states.
"Soft, flexible faux leather Flats-to-go® are an instant and elegant solution to a perennial need for the relief of sore heels, blisters and scrunched up toes. Featuring an elastic back for a better fit, and a unique, 3-dimensional wavy sole that cushions and massages the foot as the wearer walks-perfect for indoor and smooth outdoor surfaces. They slip neatly and easily into their owner's purse, folded into a cute clear plastic carrier with its own little handles."

Bottom of the shoes.

Let me give you a little true story about a Flats to Go moment in my life.
A couple of weeks ago my family decided we were going to go to Ikea. Had I known we were going to Ikea I would not have worn heels. As soon as we arrived I knew that it was not going to be a quick little jaunt. After walking around the extremely large store my feet were killing me. They were sore and slightly swollen. I had never wanted out of my heels so badly! My mom reminded me that I had smartly packed my Flats to Go in my purse! I slipped them on and had immediate heel relief.

Now for a more technical breakdown.
The shoes are immediate comfort, but I wouldn't necessarily say that they "cushion and massage" your feet. I also think that the bottoms are not the most sturdy material, but that would be what makes them so convenient to roll.  I like that they are easy to roll up and shove in your purse. They look more elegant on your feet than they do when they're rolled up. Mine are in a fun, alligator print. They jazz up the shoe and make it more chic. The retail for a mere $10. If you want to purchase them online, then click here.

Overall I would definitely recommend these to my readers, friends, and family!

Here is the other product I received, they are called "Microfiber Crew socks."

This is what the product is described as.
"The new crew length style features a comfort roll top band for a non-binding fit and special Coolmax fiber to wisk moisture - all with the knit-in cushioned sole. The style is ideal with the season's hottest Gladiator type shoes, but also works well with heels or cool pumps."

Look you can see my toe nail polish, very sheer and comfortable!

Bottom of the socks.

I have to say one thing I really hate about wearing socks is having my feet become super warm. I think that is why I like these, they are breathable. No more sweaty feet. They were comfortable and stretchable. I think people who struggle with sweaty feet when they wear regular socks would really appreciate these.
These retail for around $11.99 in a pack of 3 online. If you would like to purchase these, then click here.

Overall I would recommend these if you don't like wearing constricting, hot socks and are in the market for breathable, stretchable, comfortable socks.

I hope you all enjoyed this review!

Dot. Dot.. Dot...

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you all what I wore to school today.
A thought often passes through my mind when I walk out the door, "I look more like a woman going to job than a girl going to school." I like dressing up. I can't wait for the days when I get to be a classy, working woman!

Blazer and earrings: New York and Company Top: Belk Jeans: Belk (Jones New York) Shoes: JCP Bracelet: Belk

I have been waiting to wear this shirt and I finally wore it today! I love the sheerness with the polka dots. I wanted to contrast with a bright white blazer, but I also wanted to show you the flowing sleeves.
For a pop of color I added my blue heels. I wanted sleek jewelry, so I wore a silver bracelet and some simple silver, faux diamond stone earrings.

For makeup I did a subtly smokey eye and a bright pink lip. The lip color is not translating very well in these pictures! Annoying. Hair straight and with a bobby pin to pin my bangs over.

I had a really good day today!
I got a chemistry test, one that I took forever ago, and I got a 96%. I worked so hard, I'm really happy!
I also got a 5 on the AP 3D scale for one of my projects. A 6 is the highest and extremely difficult to garner.

I'm off to go do homework. I have a plan to write for english. Then I have to finish steps 3 and 4 for my AP 3D 'exploring my voice'  packet. That's going to take me forever!

Have a great day!

My Favorites and Least Favorites from the Golden Globes

Hello fashionistas!
My mom and I love watching the red carpet for award shows. Last night was the Golden Globes, as if you didn't know that. Anyways, I wanted to show you all my favorites and my least favorites.

Favorites

I'm pretty much obsessed with the colors of this dress. The berry/magenta color pairs splendidly with the plum color. I also like the sheerness of the bottom and the sassy, eagle belt. This gown is edgy and chic.

I loved Charlize Theron's dress. The cut of the dress, the classy slip, and the elegant brooch are beautiful.

Salma Hayek's dress was stunning. It was glitzy and glamorous. The texture added a lot of flair to the dress. I really liked the geometric mirrored bodice. I thought her hair added a touch of softness to the gown. Her makeup was minimal and kept it elegant.

Heidi Klum's dress was a very simple and blush toned. I also like the pops of turquoise with her jewelry, it contrasts nicely. I'm not sure why I like this so much, but I do!

Sofia Vergara looked stunning! I adored the mermaid style of the dress and the marbling on the bottom.
The dress made her look extremely tall and it popped against her skin tone. I like that she went with simple hair and makeup because it didn't overpower her dress.

Least Favorites

I did not like this dress at all! Actually, I would have liked it a lot if it didn't have the peplum. It looks awkward with it. Also, I really wish she would go with an emerald green dress, that would look stunning against her skin tone.

I would have loved this dress on Morena Baccarin if it had not had those weird cut outs in the chest area. I think it was trying to be geometric and they just took it a step to far with the cut outs. I also didn't care for the earrings.

Sarah Michelle Gellar's hair and makeup were very pretty, but her dress just was a miss for me.
The swirls were just a lot and the fabric looked too heavy for this style of a dress. I do like the neckline of the dress, but that's about it.

Meryl Streep, what were you thinking? I like Meryl Streep, I just can't imagine why on earth she chose this dress. It's like a full length, western, oxford shirt dress. So strange.

I think my best dressed choice would have to be Emma Stone and my worst dressed choice would be Meryl Streep.

Do you guys agree or disagree with any of picks? Let me know!

Thanks for reading!

Small Haul- Sephora and Belk

Hello fashionistas!
Last weekend I made an order to Sephora and it came in the mail on Friday!

I'd been wanting Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue perfume for awhile now. I didn't want to buy the perfume because the 1.7oz was $64, but when I was perusing online I saw that they had just come out with a gift set of Light Blue! Which I thought was strange because normally gift sets come out at Christmas, but whatever, I was very excited!

For the arrival of 2012 Sephora was letting you pick 2 deluxe samples and I picked the Fan De Fendi perfume and the BareMinerals mineral veil. I also got to pick 3 regular samples too. It was a very perfume-y order.

Here's the cute little tote bag that it came in.

For $68 I got a .25oz on the go spray bottle, 1.7oz lotion, and a 1.6oz bottle of the perfume.
I love the smell, so crisp and fresh.

Yesterday my aunt, sister, and I went to the mall and we popped into Sephora.
This Oscar Blandi Hair Lift serum thickens and volumizes your hair. I don't really need my hair to be any thicker, but I love volumizing products. I would not pay the original price of $19, but it was on sale for $6.
You all should head down to Sephora because the Oscar Blandi stuff was on major sale. At least it was at mine.

I think I'm going to review this later.

We headed into Belk and I found this tank-top and fell in love. It's such a pretty color and it is so soft. It was originally $48 and I got it for $15.

Detail shot.

Today I'm just having a chill day. Probably going to go paint my nails (they need to be done).
I'm currently watching The Switch with my mom.

Hope you all have a great day!

Pretty in Purple

Hello fashionistas!
I thought I'd share an outfit that I wore to school on Monday with you all.
My parents had new carpet put in that day, hence why there wasn't any carpet in these photos!

Top: Forever 21 Blazer: New York and Company Tanktop: Kohl's Jeans: Belk Shoes: Target Purse: Jessica Simpson Earrings: Old Navy Necklace: Tiffany & Co.

I was in a mood that made me just want to dress up. I've been waiting to wear this shirt and that day just felt like a good day to wear it! Paired it with my white blazer to offset the purple. Dark jeans to balance out the brightness and my favorite heels to finish it off.
Very simple makeup. All I used on my eyes was Urban Decay's "Whiskey" eyeliner on lower lashline and mascara on my upper lashes. I wasn't feeling like putting on a bunch of makeup. Sometimes I need simple and that was one of those days!
Notice the hair twist?.. It's becoming my favorite hair thing.

Today I have no exams because my pottery is a 6/7 class. My mom and I are going out to lunch at my favorite restaurant in town, Harry's. Then I have an eye appointment to get my perscription checked and because I'm almost out of contacts.
Five day weekend for me because of Martin Luther King Day on Monday and a teacher planning day on Tuesday. Woo!

On a random note, got a 96% on my history exam. Very pleased!

Have a great weekend!

Loads of love!

Pops of Pink and Tweed

Hello fashionistas!
First off I want to say sorry for the awkward factor of these photos. I look so awkward! I was freezing and running late. Plus this blazer never photographs as cutely as it actually looks! Which irritates me to no end. Anyways, I decided to wear this outfit because the pink scarf really complimented the blazer. I paired it with a soft pink because I wasn't in the mood for black! Also, I wore this last week.

Excuse the fact that one sleeve is cuffed and the other isn't. I was so scattered that morning!

Top: Gap Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Jacket: Cold Water Creek Scarf and Shoes: Target Earrings: Forever 21

I'm thinking I need to wear this scarf more often; I really love the color and casual fringe! It's also incredibly warm.

My history exam was extremely easy, I finished in 30 minutes and had an entire hour to sit. My French exam was not easy. It was actually really hard. Today I took my math and chemistry exams and those were both pretty difficult.
Tomorrow I have my english and AP 3D exams. My AP 3D exam is actually just a critique, should be easy. My english exam is just a standard exam and seen as I'm in a college level english class I'm not worried.
Can't wait for tomorrow to be over because I don't have to go to school on Friday because my AP 3D class is a 6/7, so I don't have another exam.

Lots of love!

Naked 2 Makeup of the Day

Hello fashionistas!

When I started my blog I had intended for it to be more of a beauty blog. Somewhere along the way it became a fashion blog. I'm very into both of these things, so I wanted to show you all some of my day to day looks.

I wanted to show you my makeup look from the other day.
Also, meant to tell you all that I got a haircut almost a month ago. It's really short in the back and angled toward the front. Very Victoria Beckham-esque. You probably couldn't tell from my pictures and I just totally spaced and forgot to mention it to you all!

Eyes

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Urban Decay Naked 2 "Snakebite" all over my lid
Urban Decay Naked 1 "Naked" to buff out my crease
Urban Decay Naked 2 "YDK" in my inner corner and lower inner corner
NYX Yogurt pencil in my lower inner corner with YDK over it
Urban Decay Naked 2 "Bootycall" as my highlight
Milani eyeliner pencil in "Dark Brown" on my upper lash line
Covergirl Lashblast Mascara

Face

Beneift Boi-ing concealer
Maybelline Pure Stay powder foundation
Physcian's Formula translucent powder
ELF Contouring and Blush duo (bronzer only to contour)
The Balm and the Beautiful "The Evil Twin" cheek cream
ELF Warm Bronzer on my cheeks

Lips

Random Sephora berry lipgloss, it didn't have a name on it. Sorry!

In case anyone is wondering, my shirt is from Forever 21.

I hope you all are having a wonderful week. Tomorrow I have a history midterm and a french midterm. I've got a good bit of studying to do today! The only bright side to midterms is that we get out of school at 12:30. On Wednesday we have to go to school all day because we normally have early release that day and something with the bus routes and times means we have to stick out a full day of school.

Lots of love!

Comfort, Style, and Warmth

Hello fashionistas!

The past couple of days had been nice and warm.. Until this week when the weather went chilly! Well, chilly for Florida. I'm not complaining, I quite like the cold, brisk air.
I opted for a warm ensemble.
A simple blue, long sleeve shirt, subtle, pinstriped blazer, and a new pair of jeans featured in my last haul.
I wanted to keep warm so I tossed on my snood and added plaid socks to go with my flats for a pop of pattern. I was pretty warm! Comfort, style, and warmth. Those are three great things for a winter outfit, but if I can't fit comfort into the equation then that's always the first one to go!

Top: Old Navy Blazer: New York and Company Jeans: Belk Shoes: Me Too is the brand, my dad bought them at Costco ages ago for Christmas so I doubt they're still there Snood: Mom made it Necklace: Tiffany & Co. Ring: Forever 21 Socks: Target

My latest thing is twisting my bangs over. Makes it look like I put in more effort in than I did. Also, sorry for looking so tired. This was the first day back from winter break and I was exhausted! Sleep troubles and waking up early do not mix!

Also, the lipstick I'm wearing is MAC "Speed Dial" with Covergirl's Wet Slicks "Red Riot" gloss over it.

This weekend I'm going to be studying like a madwoman, midterms start on Tuesday. So stressed! Trying to not let it get to me. Wish me luck! To combat my stressed feeling I put an order in for January's My Glam bag! I'm so excited that I finally got through; they'd been out of stock every time I've checked. Can't wait to get it! It seems like a better version of Birchbox, I hope it was worth the $10 I spent. Based on last month's bag I think it will be.

Loads of love and I hope you all have a more exciting weekend than I am.
I'm going back to studying for my chemistry midterm.
